The Honourable Pamela Tate AM KC was a judge of the Victorian Court of Appeal between 2010 and 2021, following upon her service as Solicitor-General for Victoria between 2003 and 2010, as the first female holder of that appointment.

Her Honour is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Monash University.

She has played a critical role in the development of human rights law in Australia, having decided key human rights cases as a judge, having appeared as counsel in the early cases in the jurisprudence of the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 (Vic), and before that in her role as Special Counsel to the Human Rights Consultation Committee that recommended the enactment of the Charter.
