Mooting Competition

The inaugural Human Rights Law Association Moot was held in 2025 as part of the Queensland Intervarsity Legal Competitions.

Mooting teams from Queensland universities competed over a series of rounds culminating in the grand finals before the Hon Chief Justice Bowskill and the Hon Justice Bond on 15 August 2025.

Declan Grunsell, Ruby Allen and Diesel Yoxon from Bond University were the grand final winners. 

Congratulations to all the students who participated. Our appreciation goes to all the mooting judges who have generously volunteered their time: Chief Justice Bowskill, Justice Bond, Fleur Kingham, Nitra Kidson KC, Sally Robb KC, Magistrate Patrina Clohessy, Kathryn McMillan KC and Felicity Nagorcka. Our appreciation also goes to Natalie McIntosh, Riley Arthur, Rose Barrett and Kent Blore for their work in getting the moot up and running.
